When do you need a Studio teacher on set??
Absolutely anytime there is a minor working on-set either in California, or from California, you need to have a California certified studio teacher present.
On school days I take care of schooling the minors using both work provided by the school that the child is currently attending, and fun educational activities that I bring in my on-set studio kit.
On days where the child does not have school (i.e. Weekends, Holidays, etc) I am there to act as a welfare worker for the child, and also like to bring fun games to keep the child's interest during down-time.
A studio teacher is not only a minor's teacher on set, they are also their welfare worker ensuring that they are safe and that laws are being followed.
